Beastie Boys Making Short Film With Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Elijah Wood 


Adam "MCA" Yauch of the Beastie Boys, who continues to battle cancer, will write and direct a short film inspired by the band's well-known 1987 music video for "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)." The film, called "Fight For Your Right Revisited," starz Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Seth Rogen, Jack Black and Elijah Wood. It will premiere at the Sundance Short Film Festival in January. First Round of Warped Tour Bands Announced

 

The Vans Warped Tour has announced the first round of bands that will perform on next year's 40-plus date traveling punk rock festival, which runs from June 24 to Aug. 14. Go Radio, We Came As Romans, Dance Gavin Dance, Every Avenue and the Word Alive will be among the numerous acts to perform. The next lineup announcement will take place Dec. 15, and main stage bands will be revealed on on the site March 26. (VansWarpedTour.com)

 

Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am Suffers From Tinnitus


A recent interview reports that Black Eyed Peas leader Will.i.am suffers from tinnitus, a condition that causes constant ringing in the ears. "I don't know what silence sounds like any more," he said. "Music is the only thing which eases my pain. I can't be still. Work calms me down." (The Sun)

 

Lady Gaga Asks Giorgio Armani to Design Tour Wardrobe


Lady Gaga will be hitting the stage in style. The singer has asked the fashion icon Giorgio Armani to design the wardrobe for her global "Monster Ball" tour, which kicks off February 2011. The clothes will include mirror finishes, lobster effects, Gaga's patented pointy shoulders and a full-length leather coat. The outfits will also be paired with accessories and shoes exclusively from Armani. (The Hollywood Reporter)

 

Young Jeezy's Manager Denies Rapper Was Arrested

 

It was reported this weekend that rapper Young Jeezy was arrested in the Bahamas on Saturday (Dec. 4), but his manager has said that it is not true. According to representatives of a Bahamanian police station, Jeezy was there for a short while and taken to their Central Detective Unit. No reasons for the alleged arrest have been released. (MTV)

 

Rihanna, Kanye, Justin Bieber Among Artists On board With MyYouTube

YouTube is rolling out a music video promotion called MyYouTube, which will serve as a contest to see which artist can get the most fans to subscribe to their YouTube channel. Starting today (Dec. 8) through Feb. 5, artists will get points for every new fan that subscribes to their YouTube channel and shares clips. More than 50 artists are involved in the effort and have recorded videos encouraging their fans to get involved, including Rihanna, Kanye West, Justin Bieber and OK Go. (Billboard.biz)  

 

Nick Cave In Car Accident

 

Singer Nick Cave crashed his car into a speed camera and roadside barrier last night (Dec. 7) in Hove, England. No one was injured, and the cause of the incident is unknown. (Pitchfork)
