Billboard Bits: Aretha Franklin, Ice Cube, Moby, Vicki Sue Robinson

Arista founder and president Clive Davis' collection of 40 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certification plaques from the Recording Industry Association Of America is being put up for online auction at Planetgiving.com from May 10-25. All proceeds will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer, and AIDS Research; amFAR AIDS research; and City Of Hope.

Plaques awarded to Davis for albums by Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Thompson Twins, the Kinks, and Toni Braxton, among others, will be up for auction. Each plaque comes with a CD of the album in question or a compilation of the artist's top hits.

Arista's 25th anniversary celebration will air May 15 on NBC.

Ice Cube's multimedia crossover movement is gaining even more momentum. The rapper and HBO have pacted for a series about the struggles of maintaining a successful recording career. Developed and produced by Cube -- who plans to have a recurring role -- "Be Careful What You Wish For" is expected to feature cameos by actual rap artists.

Ice Cube's latest Lench Mob/Best Side/Priority album, "War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc)," debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in April.

Moby, Filter, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fuel, Our Lady Peace, and Marcy Playground will perform as part of festival sponsored by Rolling Rock beer, to be held Aug. 5 in the company's hometown of Latrobe, Pa. No word yet on whether Mr. Rogers, who hails from Latrobe, will be on hand as well.
