Beyonce, Master P Top 'Teenfest' Bill

Comments

San Diego's Coors Amphitheater will be given over to youth Aug. 31 as Blockbuster Teenfest '02 brings to the venue a job fair, celebrity Olympics, and a concert featuring Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles, her sister Solange, Master P, his son Lil' Romeo, Westlife, Isis, Play, and Lil' J.

In addition to the concert, which will take place at 8 p.m., unsigned local bands will be playing two side stages throughout the day. A panel of judges will select four of the side-stage bands to also play sets on the main Coors Amphitheater stage during the evening concert. The Coors Amphitheater parking lot and nearby Knotts Soak City waterpark will also be used for events, such as the celebrity Olympics -- consisting of a go-kart race and a basketball contest -- and an all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet.

The job fair will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Coors Amphitheater, offering attendees the chance to apply for entry-level positions at a number of major corporations.

Prior to the concert, the main stage will be used for the presentation of Most Influential Leaders of the Millennium awards, which will honor the likes of Secretary of State Colin Powell, basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, and comedian Steve Harvey.
