Atlanta Warms Up For Music Midtown

The full lineup for Atlanta's ninth annual Music Midtown Festival has been set, and will feature the likes of Stone Temple Pilots, Incubus, Kid Rock, Bush, No Doubt, Garbage, Bo Diddley, Counting Crows, Hoobastank, Adema, Puddle Of Mudd, Mystikal, Ja Rule, Cee-Lo, and Bubba Sparxxx, along with many more acts. The three-day festival, which traditionally draws about 300,000 fans, will take place May 3-5 on a 35-acre complex sectioned off in midtown Atlanta.

Claiming to be America's largest three-day music festival, Music Midtown will offer performances by more than 120 artists on 10 different stages. Certain stages will focus on different genres each day of the festival, with an array of blues performances on May 3, Cajun and zydeco music proliferating May 4, and African and Cuban musicians -- including Zimbabwe's best-selling artist, Oliver Mtukudzi & Black Spirits -- playing May 5.

This year's festival will also feature an artist's market with more than 70 vendors, and other special areas devoted to therapeutic massage, tarot card readings, and more. For more information about the festival, as well as a full list of performers, visit the event's official Web site.

This spring, Atlanta will also play host to the second On The Bricks festival, which last year featured appearances by such artists as Staind, They Might Be Giants, and Cake over the course of 11 summer weekends.
