As first tipped here last month, Eminem, Papa Roach, Xzibit, Ludacris, and the X-Ecutioners have signed on for the second Anger Management tour, kicking off July 18 in Buffalo, N.Y. Bionic Jive, Obie Trice, and Eminem cohorts D12 will also be on the bill, although not all acts are expected to appear on all dates. Ticket on-sale dates have not yet been announced.
The 33-date tour will find Eminem showcasing his third Interscope album, "The Eminem Show," due June 4. The set is enjoying tremendous pre-release airplay for the single "Without Me," which has rocketed to No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in just three weeks. The track is also No. 11 on Billboard's Top 40 Tracks chart. Prior to the trek, Eminem will make his first concert appearance of the year May 25 in Washington, D.C., as part of the annual HFStival. Papa Roach plays the event the following day.
As previously reported, Papa Roach is in the midst of a short warm-up tour for the Anger Management run. The band's next show is May 25 Somerset, Wisc.; its new DreamWorks album, "lovehatetragedy" is due June 18.
Rappers Xzibit and Ludacris will be supporting their latest albums, "Restless" and "Word of Mouf," released by Loud and Def Jam, respectively. X-Ecutioners are touring behind their Loud breakthrough, "Built From Scratch," which features the No. 13 Modern Rock Tracks chart hit "It's Goin' Down" featuring Linkin Park.
D12 does not have the best track record on the road, having been thrown off last year's Warped Tour for assaulting rival Detroit rapper Esham. The group's Shady/Interscope debut, "Devil's Night," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 last July.
