Andrew Bird, the erudite multi-instrumentalist from Chicago whose "Noble Beast" debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 in January, has added new dates to his non-stop touring schedule. Bird will make his Radio City Music Hall debut on June 17, and the early summer tour includes appearances at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia, the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston and the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta.  Calexico opens all dates and tickets for all the shows go on sale today (March 6) through Ticketmaster.

Since the release of "Noble Beast," his eight studio album and second on Fat Possum, Bird has expanded his live touring band from a trio to include Mike Lewis on bass, clarinet, and vocals.  Lewis joins fellow Minneapolis natives Martin Dosh (drums, keyboards) and Jeremy Ylvisaker (guitar, vocals) in the group. After kicking of the current tour at New York's Carnegie Hall, Bird's remaining North American dates nearly cmpletely sold-out, including two nights at his hometown's Civic Opera House.  Last year, Bird headlined a free concert in Chicago's Millennium Park that drew more than 15,000 people, a record attendance for the venue.

Bird also recently debuted a video for "Fitz and the Dizzyspells," which was filmed earlier this year during two fan-club only shows at the 150-capacity Chicago nightclub The Hideout.

Andrew Bird summer tour dates:

June 8: Washington D.C. (Merriweather Post Pavilion w/The Decemberists)
June/11-14: Manchester TN (Bonnaroo)
June 15: Atlanta, GA (Cobb Energy Center)
June 17: Philadelphia, PA (Tower Theatre)
June 18: New York, NY (Radio City Music Hall)
June 19: Boston, MA (Bank of America Pavilion)
