Corr appeared in supporting roles in Alan Parker's 1991 Irish music comedy "The Commitments" and the director's 1996 adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical "Evita," but "The Great Ceili War" will be her first starring role as an actress.
Oscar winner Jim Broadbent ("Moulin Rouge") and Irish actors Colm Meaney ("Mystery, Alaska," "Star Trek"), and Patrick Bergin ("King of Texas") are also attached to star in the $6 million production, which begins principle photography this month in Ireland and the Isle of Man with English director John Irvin ("Hamburger Hill").
The Corrs' last studio album, 2000's "In Blue" (Atlantic), debuted at No. 21 on The Billboard 200. Earlier this year, the concert set "VH1 Music First Presents: The Corrs -- Live in Dublin" debuted at No. 52 on the chart.
