Alt-Rock Stars Pledge On Faultline's 'Love'

R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, former Verve guitarist Nick McCabe, Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin, and the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd will make appearances on "Your Love Means Everything," the second album from U.K. DJ David Kosten's Faultline project. The set is due in the U.K. in May via Blanco Y Negro, with international release details still pending.

Stipe sings on a cover of U.S. folk group the Brothers Four's "Greenfields," while Martin handles the title track and "Where Is My Boy?" Coyne and Drozd sing on "The Colossal Gray Sunshine," while McCabe plays guitar on "Lost Broadcast." California-based solo artist Jacob Golden, who recently signed with Rough Trade, appears on the song "Bitter Kiss." Kosten previously worked with Golden on the latter's self-titled EP.

"Your Love Means Everything" will also feature a host of instrumental tracks in addition to the vocal-heavy songs. It's the follow-up to 1999's "Closer Colder," which was issued in North America by Thirsty Ear. A Thirsty Ear spokesperson says the label will not be involved in a North American release of "Your Love Means Everything."
