Alien Ant Farm To Headline SnoCore Tour

Alien Ant Farm, Fenix TX, and Glassjaw will be the featured acts on the upcoming seventh annual SnoCore Rock Tour. Although the majority of the routing is still being determined, the trek is set to kick off Feb. 15 in Providence, R.I., and last six weeks, wrapping at the end of March on the West Coast. At least one more band will be added to the bill.

Last year, the SnoCore Rock Tour featured Fear Factory, Kittie, Union Underground, Boy Hits Car, and Slaves On Dope. A concurrent tour, dubbed the SnoCore Icicle Ball, boasted a bill with co-headliners Les Claypool's Frog Brigade and Galactic, as well as Lake Trout and Drums & Tuba on various dates.

For headliner Alien Ant Farm, the 2002 SnoCore Rock Tour will continue the band's hard road schedule in support of "ANThology" (New Noize/DreamWorks). In late January, the band will head down under on the Big Day Out tour of Australia and New Zealand, and will also step away from that festival run for a day to perform at MTV Europe's Jan. 22 "Winter Jam" in Solden, Austria. After finishing the Big Day Out tour, a brief visit to European markets will lead the band up to the U.S. SnoCore run.

Released last March, "ANThology" peaked at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 in September. The group's hit cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal," which is nominated for a best hard rock performance Grammy, spent four weeks topping Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart, and reached No. 23 on The Billboard Hot 100.

"We were all very surprised to hear that we were nominated," lead singer Dryden Mitchell said in a statement. "We've had a phenomenal year and this nomination alone is an honor. Even if we don't win, we've already won." The band's latest single, "Movies," is at No. 18 this week on the Modern Rock tally.

Fenix TX will be out in support of last year's Drive Thru/MCA set "Lechuza," which debuted in June at No. 87 on The Billboard 200. Glassjaw will be touring behind "Everything You Wanted To Know," released last May by Roadrunner.
