Alicia Keys and longtime manager Jeff Robinson have parted ways, ending over a decade-long business partnership that began at the onset of the singer's career. Keys and Robinson announced the news Friday night (July 16) in a joint statement.

Robinson and Keys will continue to collaborate and produce future albums through MBK/J Records while Keys will now oversee her career, according to a statement. Keys' company, AK Worldwide, will take the reins on opportunities ranging from touring and licensing to film, television, and new business development.

"This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes," read a statement, adding that the decision was "mutually agreed upon and amicable."

MBK Entertainment Inc., which includes a film, publishing and independent marketing division, has been the management firm for Keys since she was a teenager. MBK is said to now be shifting its focus toward developing new talent including Elle Varner and Gabi Wilson. MBK also recently formed a new label, Glory to Glory Records.
