Musician Alan Parsons is leaving his post as VP of EMI Studios Group, which includes the Beatles' famous Abbey Road facility. Billboard Bulletin reports that the former head of the Alan Parsons Project and producer and engineer for, among others, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney and the Hollies, will continue as a creative consultant and associate producer for the EMI group, which also includes the Town House and Olympic studios.
Parsons is currently in the U.S., promoting a surround-sound CD version of his 1997 Arcade album "On Air." Later this month, he goes into the studio to produce a debut album for unsigned Wales-based modern rock combo Arc. He plans to start recording his next album in August.
