Aguilera Sues Over Release Of Early Demos

Teen pop sensation Christina Aguilera has filed a breach of contract and unfair competition suit against Warlock Records, Platinum Recording Group, and former producers Robert Allecca and Michael Brown, in an effort to preempt the June 19 release of "Just Be Free," a collection of early demos.

The suit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, alleges that Allecca and Brown -- producers who helped Aguilera find a record deal -- have unlawfully entered an agreement with Warlock and Platinum for the distribution of "Just Be Free." Aguilera claims that the recordings -- made when she was 14 -- were never intended for release and will cause "irreparable injury" to her reputation.

Aguilera is seeking an injunction to stop the release, rights to the recordings, and damages to be determined at trial. Warlock and Platinum were unavailable for comment.
