Adam Lambert revealed plans to release his acoustic album "around Thanksgiving time," breaking the news during a videotaped interview with Australian personality Dylan Lewis.

"There is going to be an acoustic CD," the "American Idol" runner-up confirmed. "I don't have an exact release date. Probably around Thanksgiving time --  November, December." Lambert is the second high-profile pop star to announce such a project this week, after Justin Bieber confirmed a Nov. 23 release date for his own acoustic album on Twitter.

Lambert explained that the acoustic tracks were recorded as he traveled to promote his debut album, 2009's "For Your Entertainment." "We went around Europe in the earlier part of this year...and we did a lot of promo, so I had Monty my guitar player, and my drummer at the time," he said. "We just did very stripped-back versions of the songs, then we also recorded some of the stuff from the actual Glam Nation tour, so it'll be a mix of both."

As for a proper sophomore set, Lambert said "there's a new album that's definitely being theorized...I have things that I'm writing down, little notes that I'm writing here and there, but nothing's started yet on it. But hopefully it'll be out by the spring or summer of next year.

Asked about which artists he'd like to collaborate with next after working with P!nk and Lady Gaga on his debut, Lambert said, "I'd love to sing with Christina Aguilera. I think that would be a real big treat...her voice is power." Lambert added that he's put the request "out there a couple of times, and she may have received the message. [But] I have yet to meet her face to face."

Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" album has sold 744,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
