ACM Awards Add Star Performers

Comments

Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, and Trisha Yearwood are among the latest performers to be added to the upcoming 37th annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ceremony. The performance lineup for the May 22 show also features newly confirmed artists Mark Chesnutt, Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, and Travis Tritt. They join previously announced performers Alan Jackson, George Strait, Toby Keith, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, and Lee Ann Womack.

Hosted by Reba McEntire, the ceremony will be broadcast live from Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre on CBS. Newly announced presenters included Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts, Jamie O'Neal, Diamond Rio, Aaron Tippin, and Keith Urban

Chesnutt, Diffie, and Lawrence, who will be on the road together this summer on the Rockin' Roadhouse tour, will perform as part of the ACM's Pioneer Award Tribute. The recipient of the honor will not be announced prior to the presentation of the award.

As previously reported, Keith and Brooks & Dunn are the top contenders for this year's awards, with six nominations each. Both acts are nominated in the entertainer of the year category, and both scored nods in the album, song, single, and video categories. Keith is also up for male vocalist of the year, and Brooks & Dunn for top vocal duo.

Additionally, fans can now vote online for the winner of the inaugural Home Depot Humanitarian Award. McEntire, Alabama, and Brooks & Dunn have been nominated for the honor, which recognizes an artist for their commitment to community service, generosity of spirit, and help in building the dreams of those in need. Voting will remain open at homedepot.com/acm through the first two hours of the show. The winner will be announced and presented with the award during the final hour of the broadcast.
