'80s Brit Popsters Team For Tour

Comments

A veritable gold mine of a bill for any devotee of '80s British pop will hit the U.K. arena circuit in November. Kim Wilde, Paul Young, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Nick Heyward, T'pau, Go West, and Heaven 17 will come together for a seven-date British tour beginning Nov. 8 in Newcastle. The trek will also hit Sheffield, Birmingham, Brighton, London, Manchester, and Cardiff.

In other nostalgia news, Welsh rock singer Bonnie Tyler's "The Greatest Hits" will be released July 2 in the U.K. and Europe by Sanctuary, in conjunction with Sony Music International. Tyler is best known in the U.S. for the 1983 transatlantic chart-topper "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and "Holding Out for a Hero," her contribution to the soundtrack of the 1985 film "Footloose." She also scored U.K. top-10 hits with "Lost in France" and "A Rockin' Good Way" (a duet with Welsh compatriot Shakin' Stevens).

Here is the itinerary for the Wilde/Young/etc. tour:
Nov. 8: Newcastle, England (Telewest Arena)
Nov. 9: Sheffield, England (Sheffield Arena)
Nov. 10: Birmingham, England (NEC Arena)
Nov. 14: Brighton, England (Brighton Center)
Nov. 15: London (Wembley Arena)
Nov. 16: Manchester, England (Evening News Arena)
Nov. 17: Cardiff, England (International Arena)
