50 Cent Preps Soundtrack, Streams Concert

Comments

50 Cent has secured new music from Mase, Nate Dogg, Mobb Deep and M.O.P. for the soundtrack to his upcoming biographic film, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." The album is due Nov. 8 via G Unit/Interscope and is led by the 50 Cent single "Window Shopper," which appears in several key scenes in the film. It debuts this week at No. 37 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart.

The only other confirmed track at deadline is "Hustla's Ambition," which has been garnering urban airplay and dance club spins. The cut reached No. 4 last week on Billboard's Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

"I created the music for the soundtrack while I was actually filming the movie," 50 Cent says. "I had a studio trailer with me and would record every day between takes."

"Get Rich or Die Tryin'" opens Nov. 9 in U.S. theaters. The film was directed by Jim Sheridan ("My Left Foot," "In America") and is mirrored on 50 Cent's rise to hip-hop superstardom.

As previously reported, its release will coincide with the release of the video game "50 Cent Bulletproof," pre-orders of which will feature an exclusive live DVD taped last month in Germany.

In other news, the broadband channels MTV Overdrive and VH1 Vspot are streaming 50's complete Oct. 16 concert in London for the next month. The program also includes interviews and previews of music from the "Get Rich" soundtrack.
