As cool as it's been to have the albums from the Dead Weather, Raconteurs, Wanda Jackson and the other projects Jack White's been involved in, they just haven't completely delivered the Jack fix we've been jonesing for since the White Stripes officially split last year. So it's great to hear that not only is his proper solo debut, "Blunderbuss," due on April 24, the first song from it is available now on his official web site. Reminiscent of deeper cuts on the last few White Stripes albums, "Love Interruption" is an unusual but tantalizing lead track. The slow song finds White harmonizing with Nashville singer Ruby Amanfu (who toured with Wanda Jackson recently) about all of the violent things they want love to do to them: "I want love to roll me over slowly, stick a knife inside me and twist it all around … Murder my own mother and take her off to somewhere like hell or up above." The song is driven by electric piano and acoustic guitar, subtly embellished with woodwinds, and features no percussion whatsoever -- and it's over in two-and-a-half minutes. Like the recent material from his other bands - and its title -- "Love Interruption" leaves you lusting for more.
