With new album "Save Me San Francisco" out on Oct. 27 and a tour kicking off tonight (Oct. 20) in Seattle, Train stopped by Billboard.com to perform first single "Hey, Soul Sister" and 2001 top five hit "Drops of Jupiter" and to chat about the new album, rocking the ukulele, bonfires, and more.

"Save Me San Francisco" represents something of a comeback for Train. The band -- frontman Pat Monahan, guitarist Jimmy Stafford and drummer Scott Underwood -- took a three-year hiatus after their 2006 album, "For Me, It's You," and reunited in April to record "Save Me San Francisco" in London. "We made this record based on the first Train record, not based on a hit record," Monahan tells Billboard in the video interview.

Monahan and Stafford brought a ukulele to perform "Hey, Soul Sister" acoustic. The idea behind the song, Monahan explains, involved the image of "a group of beautiful, diverse women dancing around a bonfire." But the feel of the song is much sunnier. "A song with a ukulele is a little bit different for us and people instantly feel happy when they hear it. Who's not looking for a little bit of that?"
