The Script

Irish pop-rock trio the Script have had the kind of breakthrough that every new band dreams about. They scored a UK top 10 hit with their first single "We Cry," a U.K. No. 1 album with their 2008 self-titled debut, and have already supported U2 and Paul McCartney on tour. The band's current single, "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," also reached No. 25 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

"We think of where we've been in the past year and a half since the record came out and it's unbelievable," says singer Danny O'Donoghue. "You definitely couldn't write in a script, pardon the pun, a better story than this."

Success hasn't come without pain, however. While recording the album both O'Donoghue and guitarist Mark Sheehan lost parents, Sheehan's mother to cancer and O'Donoghue's father to a heart attack. "We used the studio as therapy sessions," says Sheehan, and the result has brought them where they are today.

The Script sat down with Billboard.com in our studio to talk about their rapid success. "It's like a train," says drummer Glen Power, "and we're trying to run after it like Superman."
