"U2 hawks iPods, Led Zeppelin sells Cadillacs and Bob Dylan sells lingerie," O.A.R. saxophonist Jerry DePizzo quipped when asked about the O.A.R. songs that have found their way into "90210" and Verizon commercials. "I think there's a pretty good precedent for you to go and try to get your songs heard." In a recent video interview by Billboard.com in conjunction with Fuse, DePizzo and bandmate Benj Gershman talked about the TV placements, starting work on a new album, and the band's live album due out later this year.

After the success of "Shattered (Turn The Car Around)" -- the band's first top 40 song on the Hot 100 -- late last year, O.A.R. says they'll return to the studio in January 2010 to work on a follow up to 2008 album "All Sides." Meanwhile, they are also planning to release a live album before 2009 is up. As previously reported, the four-disc set will showcase full recordings of two shows at Chicago's Northerly Island this June. The live experience, DePizzo and Gershman stress, is key to O.A.R.'s longevity. When you come to a show, they want you, "to leave with a smile on your face."
