Say Anything

With its first new album since 2007's "In Defense Of The Genre" out today (Nov. 3), Say Anything stopped by Billboard.com's studios to talk about the "dark," "cheeky" self-titled record, and to play two songs acoustic, "Baby Girl, I'm A Blur" and the new song "Crush'd."

"There's a lot of darkness to Say Anything," frontman Max Bemis said on camera. "I'm really moody and hypercritical. I'm neurotic. Those things get expressed through this album a lot but I'm not really [an] 'everything sucks' type of guy." In another candid moment, Bemis discussed single "Hate Everyone," which recently debuted on the Alternative Songs chart with a bullet. "It's about what I believe is an important stepping stone toward enlightenment, which is an anger and a sort of sense of frustration with mundane things."
