Los Amigos Invisibles

Venezuelan dance-rockers Los Amigos Invisibles describe their live show in the simplest terms: "You're going to sweat while you shake your ass." Since releasing debut album "A Typical and Autoctonal Venezuelan Dance Band" in 1995, the six-member outfit has toured throughout the U.S. and Latin America several times over, earning a reputation for its must-see concerts.

"We are heavily inspired by dance music and party culture," says keyboardist Armando Figueredo. "Back in Venezuela, we would have salsa and merengue bands that would play weddings for hours… we didn't want to be that. We wanted to be more of an acid-jazz-funky-disco kinda sounding band."

With their latest album, "Commercial," released in the U.S. June 9 on Nacional Records, Los Amigos hope to broaden their appeal even further. "We would like to cross over with any of our albums," says Figueredo. "It's about the universality of music."

Watch Los Amigos break down their band's strategy for staying relevant in a changing music game, and check out their acoustic performance of "Viviré Para Ti," a track from "Commercial."
