Anberlin

Florida alt-rock outfit Anberlin is still riding high on the success of its 2008 album, "New Surrender." The band's first release on Universal Republic, the set not only landed at No. 12 on the Billboard 200 in its first week of release, it also spawned a No. 1 Hot Modern Rock Track ("Feel Good Drag").

Anberlin recently stopped by Billboard.com's studios to perform "Breaking," the new single from "New Surrender," as well as an acoustic cover of the Danzig song "Mother," and also to reflect on the band's success.

"It's a slow and steady groove," singer/songwriter Stephan Christian says of the Anberlin's career. "We're not like a skyrocket, overnight thing... I count Anberlin's success at day one, when we got into a van and started driving. It [was] just kind of like, 'Hey guys, let's all do this and pitch in our time and our money and our lives, and just do what we love to do.' "
