Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin, Title TBD (Sony)
Release Date: early summer

Ricky Martin is releasing his first studio set since 2005's "Life" with a twist: The album will be bilingual, with no language claiming majority. Manager Bruno Del Granado says Martin is trying to keep the "originality of the song: If it was created in English, it stays in English. If it was created in Spanish, it stays in Spanish." Martin is very involved in the production and writing process along with Lester Mendez and David Cabrera, and the album has an energetic vibe. "What he wants to do is go out there and have a great time and lighten people's moods," Del Granado says. Martin's most recent album was a 2007 live set, and his last Spanish-language studio release was 2003's "Almas del Silencio." This time, Del Granado says, he's aiming for the international marketplace and conversations are ongoing with many potential partners. Duets are being considered, but nothing has been firmed up yet.
