No, the Jonas Brothers aren't breaking up. Sibling Nick Jonas is moonlighting elsewhere, though, after developing a side project dubbed the Administration while on break from touring with older brothers Kevin and Joe. "Hopefully people will listen to it with open ears and this will show who I am as an artist and as a musician," Jonas says. Three members of the 17-year-old's band, including producer/bassist John Fields, are in Prince's New Power Generation, but their latest collaboration doesn't stray far from the Jonas family tree. The title track lead single "Who I Am"-which recently debuted at No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100-is a rumbling soft-rock jam, and the pensive, acoustic "Rose Garden" cautions a girl who's "wise beyond her years." While most upstart acts dream of a national TV gig, Nick Jonas & the Administration made their live debut Dec. 2 on CBS' Grammy Award nominations special. The band kicks off a monthlong theater tour Jan. 2 in Dallas; in the meantime, Jonas will keep doing his best to reassure terrified fans that their favorite trio isn't kaput.
