Little Boots

Little Boots, "Hands" (Elektra)
Release Date: March 2010

"It's hard to have all this pressure when you're the 'future of music,' and you're like, 'Oh, really? Shit,' " says Victoria Hesketh, aka Little Boots, who earned considerable media attention in her native England even before the U.K. release of her debut album "Hands" in June 2009. The set, a collection of bursting electro-pop nuggets about love and relationships, has an army of producers-including RedOne, who co-wrote the single "Remedy" about dancing as a cure-all; the Bird & the Bee's Greg Kurstin, who worked with Hesketh in her former band Dead Disco; and Hot Chip's Joe Goddard. U.S. fans were given a taste with the June release of EP "Illuminations," but the full-length waited until response could be gauged and a full-scale tour mounted. "Now that it's calmed down in the U.K., we can come for a big chunk of the year," says Hesketh, who will play South by Southwest along with other festivals and dates across North America.
