Can't Be Tamed
Miley Cyrus

At 17 years young, Miley Cyrus may still be a teenager, but the raspy-voiced singer is already evolving into womanhood. The June 21 release of "Can't Be Tamed" -- a day early from her original June 22 date -- is the boldest statement in a years-long process of transitioning Cyrus away from the all-American girl charm of "Hannah Montana" to a modern pop diva. "I'm just at a certain place where I've changed a lot as a person," Cyrus told Billboard last month during her cover story interview. "I've grown up a lot, which everyone does." First single, the title track, is a clear testament to that statement. "If there was a question about my intentions, I'll tell ya / I'm not here to sell ya… I'm not a fake, it's in my DNA," Cyrus retaliates against the naysayers over piercing, edgy synths. "I can't be tamed! I can't be changed!" she continues over a gyrating death-march of a chorus.

Miley Cyrus celebrated the release of her album with a live concert on MTV last night (June 21). Watch highlights of the performance below.
