Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile won't release "Give Up the Ghost" until Oct. 6, but Billboard.com has the exclusive premiere of the whole album now. Listen to "Give Up The Ghost" in its entirety, free right here.

"Ghost," Carlile's third studio album, features an impressive array of well-known musicians including Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls and her childhood music idol Elton John, who she says had an enormous impact on her early life as a songwriter. John plays on the track "Caroline." Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers also sat in on some of the "Ghost" sessions.

Carlile recently told Billboard.com that the album's songs were inspired by dreams. "Your subconscious tells you so many more interesting things than what you conscious mind tells you day to day," she said.

"Give Up The Ghost" follows Carlile's 2007 album "The Story," which peaked at No. 17 on the Rock Albums chart. Carlile and her band are currently touring the "Give Up the Ghost Traveling Show," which is on the road across the U.S. through Oct. 24.
