Landon Pigg

Singer-songwriter Landon Pigg remembers the feeling of hearing his voice broadcast for the first time -- as a boy in a McDonald's jingle. Now the 26-year-old is set to release his sophomore album, "The Boy Who Never," on  Sept. 29.  He took the time to answer some questions for Billboard.com, divulging the meaning behind the album's title, channeling Neil Young in the studio, and how he still gets that same feeling when his songs play on TV.

The 11-song "Never" was produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits). Nestled in the middle of the album is a new arrangement of the single "Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop," in which Nashville native Pigg draws upon his city's tradition of storytelling-through-songwriting to paint a romantic scene.

Pigg, who is also trying his hand as an actor, will be making his feature film debut this fall.  In the Oct. 9 movie "Whip It," Pigg plays a musician, starring alongside Ellen Page. Drew Barrymore, making her directorial debut, commissioned Pigg to write the song "High Times" exclusively for the film.

Also this fall, Pigg will share a bill with fellow "Nashvillian" Erin McCarley.  The month-long run begins Sept. 19 in Tucson, Ariz., and travels up the west coast, through the Midwest and out east, finishing up on Oct. 13 in Columbus, Ohio.
