Release Date: July 2010

Good Charlotte defied the odds in 2007 by seeing its disc "Good Morning Revival" crack the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and spawn the surprise hit single "I Don't Wanna Be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem)." For their fifth full-length, the veteran pop-punkers are buckling down. "It's taken so long because we've been really hard on the songs and ourselves," singer Joel Madden says. "Cardiology," whose title refers to the loose concept of "a studying of the heart," will find the band returning to the brash sound of its early singles. However, Madden promises that fans of "Revival" will appreciate the songwriting at the center of the album. "All of these songs have big hooks and feel good," he says. "We wanted a whole album of singalongs." Working with "Revival" producer Don Gilmore, the band will begin tracking the album this month and is aiming for a summer release.
