Ashley Tisdale

While making new album "Guilty Pleasure," "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale stopped by Billboard.com's studios to chat on camera about growing up, being herself in her new music, and why she's "not just that Disney girl."

"It has been amazing these last three years," Tisdale says about the ride into the public eye that has already included three multi-platinum "High School Musical" albums, and seeing her first album, 2007's "Headstrong," debut in the top five of the Billboard 200. "It's been life changing... I [used to] sit in my room and rock out to other people's music and pretend to do videos."

"People perceive me as my [HSM] character, as this blonde, bubbly, cute girl, but I'm 23 years old and my original hair colour is brunette. So when I dyed my hair, I felt a little bit edgier... I need to share this with people. There's a different side of me that people haven't seen. The best part about doing an album is that you get to be yourself." "Guilty Pleasure" is due July 28.
