Lady Gaga

As Lady Gaga celebrates her 25th birthday on Mar. 28, Billboard.com takes a moment to look back at the pop star's killer 24th year.

--

Dear Lady Gaga,

The release of your album "Born This Way" is yet to come, but during your 24th year, you gave us a very generous taste of your new music -- and came out as the Billboard Hot 100's 1000th No. 1 song in the process.

You continued to show fans that "vacation" is not a word in your vocabulary, but it comes as little surprise to us that you were majorly hustling this year. When we first spoke with you in 2008 about your first No. 1 "Just Dance," you promised that 2009 would be even more Gaga-licious. Your look has certainly evolved since then (is that not the beauty of Gaga, though?), but even then, your point of view was distinct, as you told us: "The story behind the artist is just as important as the music." Check it out:

Just as you promised, 2009 was massive for you, as you graced Billboard's cover for the first time during summer 2009 and were later honored with our Rising Star Award at Billboard's Women in Music ceremony. Check it out:

This year, you graced our cover again, discussing "Born This Way," your Little Monsters and your tireless support of the LGBT community. All we can say is that we hope your constant stream of creative projects comes no where near slowing down. But at the same time, after recording nonstop and reaching all corners of the world on your -- dare we say it -- truly epic Monster Ball tour this year, here's hoping you get more sleep in your 25th year.

Baby, you were born this way, 25 years ago today. Oh how you've grown -- and changed outfits!

Happy birthday, Lady Gaga!

Hugs & Monsters,
