During his "Good Morning America" appearance this week, Chris Brown reminded us what a good ole-fashioned celebrity meltdown looks like. But the R&B bad boy isn't the first artist to freak out -- nor is he the worst offender. Artists spanning all genres have lost their cool in public through the years, for a variety of reasons. From Whitney to Britney and all the rock stars in between, relive the 20 most memorable musician meltdowns ever.
Chris Brown
On the same day that his fourth album, "F.A.M.E.," was released, Chris Brown burst into a violent rage on the set of ABC's "Good Morning America." After being questioned about his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, the singer reportedly smashed a window in his dressing room and stormed out of the building with no shirt on. Although Brown's publicist quit three days later, "F.A.M.E." is still projected to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 next week.
Courtney Love
Courtney Love's struggle to stay sober reached a low point in 2004, when the Hole singer gave an erratic interview and flashed her breasts on "The Late Show with David Letterman"; she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance the same night. Love was also arrested for disorderly conduct, assault with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of prescription drugs that year, and several stints in rehab followed. Love has since stayed clean and released a new Hole album, "Nobody's Daughter," last spring.
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse's success story has sadly been coupled with her well-documented drug abuse and personal problems, and in August 2007, the singer experienced in her most public meltdown alongside her then-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. The pair was photographed, bruised and profusely bleeding, walking the streets of London after an alleged fight; Winehouse later said that she had been cutting herself at home and Fielder-Civil was outraged when he found the singer. Although Winehouse has yet to issue a follow-up to her 2006 breakout album "Back to Black," the singer performed at a string of Brazil concerts in January.
