1000 No. 1s Video Series Day 28:
Enrique Iglesias Talks About Topping the Hot 100

2011 was the year that Billboard celebrated the 1000th No. 1 song on the Hot 100. As we look back on this year in music, we're celebrating that milestone with a month-long series of videos --- one for each day of December -- chatting with 31 of the hitmakers who rocketed to the top of the chart since its inception in 1958. SEE THE FULL CHART HERE.

On day 28 of our 1,000 Hot No. 1s video series, we move on from yesterday's '90s Aerosmith charttopper, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," and fast-forward to a pair of millennial pop hits ballad as we chat with Enrique Iglesias about his No. 1s, "Be With You" and "Bailamos." "Since I was a little kid, I was always infatuated with the charts" Iglesias says. "I remember the first time I saw my song go No. 1. It felt incredible. . . I was so excited that I kept that page [of Billboard]. I think I framed it," he laughs.

"You gotta go with your gut," Iglesias says of letting his instincts guide his song choices. He must have a pretty good sense of intuition. "Bailamos" spent two weeks at No. 1 beginning Sept. 4, 1999. "Be With You" topped that feat a few months later, spending three weeks at the top beginning June 24, 2000

Be sure to come back tomorrow (Dec. 28) for the next 1000 No. 1s video: Richard Marx talks about his No. 1s, "Hold On To The Nights," "Right Here Waiting" and "Endless Summer Nights."
