1000 No. 1s Video Series Day 30:
Boyz II Men Talk About Topping the Hot 100

2011 was the year that Billboard celebrated the 1000th No. 1 song on the Hot 100. As we look back on this year in music, we're celebrating that milestone with a month-long series of videos --- one for each day of December -- chatting with 31 of the hitmakers who rocketed to the top of the chart since its inception in 1958. SEE THE FULL CHART HERE.

On day 30 of our 1,000 Hot No. 1s video series, we move on from yesterday's trio of '80s Richard Marx charttoppers and jump over to a foursome of '90s No. 1s as we chat with Boyz II Men about the hits, "End Of The Road," "I'll Make Love To You," "On Bended Knee" and "One Sweet Day." "I wish I had some kind of articulate, scientific, incredible explanation as to why 'End Of The Road' did what it did," Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman says of that song's epic 13 week stay at No. 1 beginning Aug. 15, 1992. "That was our first time working with L.A. [Reid] and Babyface, so we were excited about that. . . [But] we didn't really think about it and the next thing we know it was pretty much doing its thing."

Think 13 weeks is amazing? Almost exactly two years after "Road," the group's "I'll Make Love To You" managed to top that streak. "Love" was No. 1 on the Hot 100 for a whopping 14 weeks beginning Aug. 27, 1994.. But that wasn't all. "On Bended Knee" returned Boyz II Men to the top soon after "Love" ran out of steam, capping 1994 with six weeks at No. 1 beginning Dec. 3, 1994. Just a year later, "One Sweet Day," which was a collaboration with Mariah Carey, sent the Boyz back to the top for 16 weeks (!) beginning Dec. 2, 1995. That wasn't all, either. They returned to the top for a fifth time on Oct. 4, 1997 with "4 Seasons of Lonliness.:

Be sure to come back tomorrow (Dec. 31) for grand finale of the 1000 No. 1s video series, featuring a special, very Billboard-related artist.
