1000 No. 1s Video Series Day 8:
RedOne Talks About Lady Gaga Topping the Hot 100

2011 was the year that Billboard celebrated the 1000th No. 1 song on the Hot 100. As we look back on this year in music, we're celebrating that milestone with a month-long series of videos --- one for each day of December -- chatting with 31 of the hitmakers who rocketed to the top of the chart since its inception in 1958. SEE THE FULL CHART HERE.

On day eight of our 1,000 Hot No. 1s video series, we move from yesterday's 80's Debbie Gibson "Lost In Your Eyes" and "Foolish Beat" into one of Lady Gaga's biggest pop smashes as we chat with producer RedOne's hand in Lady Gaga's No. 1 -- 2009's "Just Dance" "The most special one was 'Just Dance' because it was my first Billboard No. 1," the co-writer and producer said. "I will never forget that feeling. [It's] the one that changed my life and Gaga's life."

RedOne knew Gaga's first single, which peaked at No. 1 on Jan. 17, 2009, was a hit at first listen. "If we're not going crazy about it, something is wrong," RedOne said. "With 'Just Dance' -- [and] with all of the hits that we've done -- we went crazy in the studio like fans. You listen through the fans ears not only through our ears and think [about] how people are going to reach to it." RedOne has contributed to Gaga's success by serving her with several hits  including "Poker Face," "LoveGame," "Bad Romance," "Alejandro" and "Judas."

Be sure to come back tomorrow (Dec. 9) for the next 1000 No. 1s video: Wiz Khalifa talks about his No. 1, "Black and Yellow."
