Rare live performances by Plastikman, the pioneering house music group Inner City and Juan Atkins' Model 500 will highlight this year's Movement Electronic Music Festival, the annual Memorial Day Weekend bash in downtown Detroit.

The three were among more than 70 acts announced Thursday by the promoters of the 11th edition of the festival. The three will join international artists such as Kraak & Smaak from the Netherlands and Simian Mobile Disco and DJ Hype from Great Britain, as well as Detroit and Midwest favorites like Stacey Pullen, Matthew Hawtin, Phat Kat & Guilty Simpson, DJ Godfather, Anthony "Shake" Shakir and Claude VonStroke, as well as 18-year-old up-and-comer Kyle Hall.

Movement talent buyer and artist coordinator Chuck Flask tells Billboard.com that more acts will be added in the near future, including "some great surprises."

Tickets for Movement are on sale now at paxahau.com/movement. Weekend passes are $40 until April3, when they'll go up to $50. Children under 12 will be admitted free. Individual day tickets will be announced a later date.

This year's festival also marks the return of artist Carl Craig, who was the creative director of the original Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) in 2000 and was instrumental in putting this year's lineup together.

"Bascially Carl is a concept guy," says Flask. "With his work and relevance to electronic music, he's been really instrumental with helping develop concepts to our lineup and the flow of the stages each day. All the things he sees across the world, he brings it home and shares it with us."

Plastikman's May 29 appearance is part of a series of dates electronic auteur Richie Hawtin has planned for his most famous project, including the Timewarp festival on March 27 in Germany, a Coachella stop on April 18 and Britain's T in the Park on July 11. Inner City, the house collective formed by electronic pioneer Kevin Saunderson and best-known for its 1988 hits "Big Fun" and "Good Life," will headline on May 30, while Model 500 will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Atkins' Metroplex techno label on May 31.

The 2009 Movement Festival drew 83,322 fans, the largest crowd since it became a paid event in 2005.
