U2 is back in familiar territory, topping the latest Hot Tours ranking with $32.5 million in ticket sales reported from three recent dates on the band's ongoing 360° Tour.  Mexico City's Estadio Azteca drew 282,978 fans for performances on May 11, 14 and 15 with a combined total of $22.8 million in ticket sales reported for all three nights.  This was U2's second appearance at the massive 105,000-seat soccer stadium, the largest in Latin America.  They also played two shows at the Mexico City venue on the Vertigo Tour in Feb. 2006.  The $22.8 million gross total from the May performances is the third-highest venue total reported since the 360° Tour began in 2009.  São Paulo, Brazil's Estádio do Morumbi was tops with $32.7 million from three shows in April of this year and Croke Park in Dublin grossed $28.8 million from three shows in July 2009.

Also included in this week's counts are the first two U.S. stadiums on the 360° Tour's current North American leg, the second trek through the continent since the tour began.  A sellout crowd of 77,918 filled INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver on May 21 with $6.6 million in ticket sales, and a May 24 performance at Salt Lake City's Rice-Eccles Stadium grossed $3 million from 47,710 sold seats.  U2 will be playing stadiums in the U.S. and Canada through the end of July.

Dutch violinist and conductor André Rieu ranks among this week's list of top-grossing touring artists with box office totals reported from concert appearances on his ongoing world tour.  Along with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, Rieu grossed over $23 million from the most recent twenty-four performances on his touring schedule, earning the artist this weeks' No. 2 ranking.  From concerts dated March 18 through May 19, a total of 164,009 tickets were sold for the 24 concerts included in this tally.  Rieu ranked among the Top 25 tours of the year for both 2009 and 2010 in Billboard's Year In Music.  In the 2009 recap his tour was No. 6 overall with ticket sales grosses topping $95.8 million, and last year's $39.9 million in grosses gave him the No. 16 ranking among the year's Top 25.  So far since the beginning of 2011, his gross total is $36.8 million from 55 reported performances.
