Taylor Swift's Speak Now World Tour tops the latest Hot Tours ranking with $9.7 million in ticket sales from 10 sold out shows at arenas in seven North American markets.  The first of the reported venues was HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. where Swift kicked off the month of September with 24,827 fans in attendance for shows on the 1st and 2nd. The following evening (Sept. 3), the country star played to a crowd of 12,432 at Sacramento's Power Balance Pavilion.  Heading north to Portland, the tour stopped for a single performance on Sept. 6th at the Rose Garden and played the following evening at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wash., part of the metropolitan Seattle area.  The packed crowd in Tacoma numbered 19,904, the largest single-show attendance total among these seven arenas.

Swift closed out her three-week jaunt on the West Coast with two performances in Vancouver on Sept. 10-11 at Rogers Arena with combined attendance of 26,030 for both shows.  The Vancouver date marked the singer's final Canadian stop on the Speak Now World Tour that launched back in February.  After Vancouver, Swift headed home to Tennessee and played to capacity crowds on Sept. 16th and 17th at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.  The total ticket sales count was 28,178 in Music City with grosses topping $1.8 million.  After her Nashville appearance, Swift played a single performance in Bossier City, La. at the CenturyLink Center.  That Sept. 20 concert drew 11,510 fans.

Sir Elton John scores a second place ranking with $2.4 million in ticket sales from two Canadian venues on his 2011 world tour.  A crowd of 6,447 attended a solo performance by the legendary singer/songwriter on Sept. 13 in Sydney, Nova Scotia at Centre 200.  A two-show run followed on the 14th and 15th in the province of Prince Edward Island at Credit Union Place in Summerside.  With an attendance total of 11,409, the two sold out performances grossed $1.5 million.
