Rock legend Paul McCartney tops this week's Hot Tours chart with box office totals reported from July and August dates of his Up and Coming Tour.  More than $27 million in grosses were reported from 10 performances at eight venues on the North American leg of the tour.  The first date was a stadium show at AT&T Park, home of major league baseball's San Francisco Giants.  The July 10 concert drew a crowd of 40,512 with $4.7 million in ticket sales.  He followed that sold out event with a stadium appearance in the Salt Lake City market, at the 20,000-seat soccer venue Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, the home to major league soccer's Real Salt Lake.  With $3.1 million in ticket sales, McCartney is the top-grossing concert artist to appear at the four-year old venue according to totals reported to Billboard, topping Kenny Chesney's $1.5 million gross from last summer.

McCartney followed the two stadium concerts with arena shows in Denver, Kansas City, Nashville, Toronto, Montreal and Pittsburgh.  The Denver show on July 15 at Pepsi Center grossed $1.6 million, the second-highest gross reported for the arena this year- Billy Joel & Elton John's $2.7 million on Feb. 22 was the highest.  But McCartney's gross totals were the highest concert totals of the year, as reported to Billboard Boxscore, at Sprint Center in Kansas City (July 24), Bridgestone Arena in Nashville (July 26) and Toronto's Air Canada Centre (Aug. 8).  In Pittsburgh, the McCartney tour was the inaugural concert event at CONSOL Energy Center, the new 19,000-seat arena that is home to the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.  The veteran entertainer played two sold out shows in the new venue (Aug. 18-19), grossing $4.8 million with 29,745 in attendance.
