Keith Urban

Australian country star Keith Urban tops Hot Tours with box office totals reported from six Canadian arenas on his "Escape Together World Tour."  He played two shows in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg as well as single performances in Vancouver and London, Ontario. All 10 shows were sellouts, and country trio Lady Antebellum provided support for each performance. The highest gross came from Calgary with over $1.6 million in ticket sales for both shows at the Pengrowth Saddledome (Sept. 18-19).  The singer's best-grossing Canadian event on record came during his 2007 tour, based on totals reported to Billboard. On Sept. 21-22, 2007 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Urban grossed over $1.8 million with combined attendance of 24,842 for both shows. The same Edmonton arena was also part of this year's tour hosting the country star on Sept. 20 and 22. With 23,460 combined fans in attendance, ticket sales topped $1.5 million.

The first reports are in from the Miley Cyrus 2009 "Wonder World Tour," the pop star's first solo venture since appearing on the road in 2007-2008 as both herself and her Hannah Montana character on the "Best of Both Worlds Tour"). The current trek kicked off with a Sept. 14 performance at Portland's Rose Garden, the first of eight arena shows reported by tour promoter AEG Live. The initial dates on the tour were all in West Coast markets, with top numbers coming from Staples Center in Los Angeles (Sept. 22). With a sellout crowd of 14,584, ticket sales in L.A. were just over $1 million.

Il Divo continues their 2009 world tour with concert performances in Japan, Singapore and Taiwan reported by tour promoter Live Nation. The operatic vocal quartet is nearing the $50 million mark in overall tour grosses since hitting the road in February. Tokyo's Budokan arena with a combined gross of $3.1 million for three shows is the tour's top grossing venue.
