James Taylor and Carole King take their Troubadour Reunion Tour to the top of the Hot Tours chart for the third time this year with $12.3 million in box office grosses from seven venues.  Three sellouts at New York's Madison Square Garden (June 15-16, 30) produced the top gross of $5.8 million from 53,791 sold tickets ranging in price from $39.50 to $279.50.  The duo also played to arena audiences in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Cleveland, Denver, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.  In addition to the arena dates, they also played outdoors with three shows booked at Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass., the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.  Appearing during the July 4th holiday weekend (July 3-5), the veteran entertainers drew a crowd of 54,340 during the three-night engagement.

The first totals have been reported for teenage pop star Justin Bieber, headlining his inaugural solo tour.  Dubbed the My World Tour in support of the Canadian singer's first two album releases, the tour kicked off on June 23 at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.  According to tour promoter AEG Live, combined attendance from the first 14 dates on the tour was 156,987 with box office grosses surpassing $7.1 million, giving the tour the No. 2 ranking this week.  Included on this first leg of the tour was a June 27 performance at Summerfest, Milwaukee's 11-day music festival that has been held every summer since 1968.  Performing to a sellout crowd of 21,772 at Marcus Amphitheatre, one of the festival's 11 stages, Bieber's box office gross was $923,549, the largest total among the 14 reported venues. Bieber's top-grossing arena was the 19,000-seat Target Center in Minneapolis with $639,226 at the box office and 14,717 fans in attendance for a sold out performance on June 29.
