The Dave Matthews Band tops the Hot Tours chart based on totals reported during the past week from its 2010 North America summer tour.  Kicking off on May 28 with two sold out shows to over 50,000 fans at the Comcast Theater in Hartford, Conn., the band has played a total of 23 outdoor venues as of July 31, generating over $33.5 million in ticket sales revenue.  The top box office totals came from two performances at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, the 37,000-capacity amphitheater in East Troy, Wis. that draws fans from Chicago to Milwaukee.  Saturday and Sunday shows at the venue during the July 4th weekend grossed $3.1 million and attracted 70,235, the best attendance total among the amphitheaters on the schedule.  The top stadium totals came from Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., the home of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals.  A sellout crowd of 36,772 filled the stadium on July 23 with ticket sales topping $2.7 million.  Three other stadiums were on the schedule including another pro baseball venue, the Pittsburgh Pirates' PNC Park.  The July 10 concert in the Steel Town stadium drew over 30,000 fans.

Taking the No. 2 spot on the chart is country star Tim McGraw with box office totals reported from his Southern Voice Tour that began in February.  This week's ranking is based on shows that occurred from May 22 through August 7.  The grosses from these 33 shows slightly exceed $20.5 million with an attendance figure of 487,688.  The tour is playing primarily outdoor amphitheaters during this summer season along with some arena dates thrown in the mix.  The top-grossing amphitheater among the reported shows was Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va., a 25,000-capacity outdoor venue in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.  The July 10 sold out performance produced a total gross of $933,288 from a crowd of 23,505.  Since the tour kicked off on Feb. 11 in Omaha, McGraw's overall tour gross for the year tops $38 million with more than 800,000 tickets sold.
