The Foo Fighters have announced a September U.S. tour in support of their new album, "Wasting Light," that will follow a run of summer shows and festival appearances. Rise Against and Mariachi el Bronx will play openers on the fall trek, which kicks off Sept. 14 in St. Paul, Minn.

The nine new dates contribute to a busy touring year for the Foo Fighters, who scored their first-ever No. 1 album with "Wasting Light" last month. The set's leak single, "Rope," spent its 11th week atop the Rock Songs chart last week.

Along with headlining stateside festivals like Sasquatch! and Lollapalooza, the Foos will play at European feasts like the Isle of Wright Festival on June 11, T in the Park on July 10, and Pukkelpop on Aug. 18.

Pre-sale tickets for the band's September shows will begin on Wednesday (May 18), with general sale tickets following two days later.
