The ninth Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival will be held June 10-13, 2010, on its usual site in Manchester, Tenn., an hour southeast of Nashville. The first round of ticket pre-sales begins Friday, Nov. 27; a lineup announcement is expected early next year. Ticket sale information can be found on bonnaroo.com.
As first introduced last year, the initial batch of tickets will be available as part of a payment plan, encompassing five installments of $50. The installment plan will remain on sale until midnight on Dec. 31. More than 10% of this year's tickets were sold on layaway.
The 2009 Bonnaroo headliners were the recently reunited Phish and the first U.S festival appearance by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. The other 125 acts on the lineup included Wilco, Elvis Costello, the Decemberists, Band Of Horses, Cage The Elephant, Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Merle Haggard, Gov't Mule, Snoop Dogg, Animal Collective, Booker T and the DBTs, and a late addition of Jimmy Buffett.
Bonnaroo organizers Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment didn't report 2009 festival figures to Billboard Boxscore this year, but Billboard estimates 80,000 people attended, and between $17-$18 million in gross revenue, making it the top-grossing festival in North America as it has been since its inception.
