Rebecca Black's 'Friday' a Viral Sensation for All the Wrong Reasons

Ah, Rebecca Black -- blowing up on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube (with 2+ million views thus far) for all the wrong reasons.

Black's video for "Friday" is one of those rare occurrences where even the most seasoned critics of Internet culture don't know where to begin. From the singing straight out of Auto-Tuned hell to lyrics such as "Tomorrow is Saturday / And Sunday comes afterwards / I don't want this weekend to end" and a hilariously bad rap about passing school buses, "Friday" is something that simply must be seen and heard to be fully appreciated.

There are million questions one could ask. Who gave these kids a driver's license? Are any of them even above the age of 15? What is "fry-eee-day" and does it have any relation to the similarly-pronounced day of the week? And most of all, because we all know we've been through this conundrum at some point in our dull and witless lives: what seat can we take? I can barely wrap my head around it.

For those not in the know by now, Black is just one of a number of wannabe pop stars coming from a production company called Ark Music Factory. The "factory" holds casting calls for young teen girls, and if you're what they're looking for, you're flown to Los Angeles, where you're written a "hit" single, record it and make a music video.

There's plenty more on the company's website. So if you masochists like what you hear, go on and have a ball.
