Buzz about LCD Soundsystem has been plentiful lately, due to frontman James Murphy's announcement that an April 2 show at New York's Madison Square Garden would be the band's last. In between feuds with scalpers and adding four dates at Terminal 5 prior to the MSG concert, Murphy showed up on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" to discuss the recent news.
LCD Soundsystem to Retire After April Madison Square Garden Show
Host Stephen Colbert, along with many industry folks, expressed disbelief in the singer's choice to retire while "moderately" successful. Murphy's response: "It seemed like the right thing to do. I'm 41, and at a certain point I think it gets embarrassing."
