Beauty queens weren't the only ones taking the stage at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant last night (Aug. 23).

John Legend and The Roots performed during the evening gown portion of the event. Legend -- studded in a grey suit and bow tie -- crooned from his piano as the world's most beautiful women sashayed down the runway in ornate form-fitting gowns of various colors.
The Roots crooned "Baby, I love you" between commentaries from the contestants about why they chose their dresses. When all the models finished, Legend went into a repeating chorus of "Shine on," giving the girls an extra rouse in confidence.
