"Back into the gaping maw of obscurity I go," J. Tillman wrote on his blog.

Former Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman has a new project: Father John Misty.

The musician announced his departure from the Seattle folk act earlier this month, and has already released a video for his fresh moniker's debut single, "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings."

The video stars "Parks and Recreation" actress Aubrey Plaza, who plays a goth-y, destructive woman who has a wild night at a Los Angeles house party before winding up locked in Tillman's van. Watch below.

"We created this trippy funeral scene in Laurel Canyon," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I play a crazy person who destroys the funeral."

The electric song eschews Fleet Foxes' full-bodied harmonies, opting instead for a gloomy rock vibe more in line with Neil Young and Crazy Horse or fellow indie act Magnolia Electric Co. Tillman will release his first album under the new moniker, "Fear Fun," on May 1 on Sub Pop.

Tillman will also join video chat site Yowie to take fan questions and make an announcement regarding the new project at 3 p.m. PST on Tuesday.
