'Ellen' Sensation Greyson Chance Hits the Studio

Artists in this Article

Ellen DeGeneres

Greyson Chance, originally known as the sixth grade sensation that blew away the YouTube world last April with his cover of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," is now taking his talent to the next level. Specifically, the recording studio, which Chance gave his fans a glimpse into in a video he posted to YouTube yesterday (Oct. 11).

Video: Greyson Chance in the Studio

Chance, who was listed as No. 9 on Billboard's 21 Under 21 last month, recently headed to L.A. to record his original song "Stars," under Ellen DeGeneres' label eleveneleven Records. DeGeneres, who discovered Chance shortly after his YouTube success, invited him to perform on her show, and later awarded him with his own record deal -- a gesture that immediately launched Chance to well-deserving fame.

The adorable teen, who claims to have never taken a vocal lesson, is shown belting the lyrics to his latest ballad with ample enthusiasm in the video. And despite his young age, Chance is tackling issues beyond just the paparazzi. "Stars," as he told Ellen, is about a woman with cancer who reunites with her husband in Heaven. Awww.
